It sounded like it was making a sucking sound or something. I eventually got it opened. There is a small chip to the back of battery door that happened when I was trying open for first time. There are light scratches to the top of unit.

I put some fresh batteries in it and the display turned on. When I pushed the gray button is started doing whatever its supposed to do. The little knob on the left side of it looks like has some threading to but I don't know if its supposed have more. I don't know what its supposed to do or connects it.

This is the Advanced Medical Micro Recorder device. The battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. I don't have the cables that are associated with it. It has light wear to it.
